Today I’m not going to talk about technology or drop here complicated terms, today I’m going to write the small steps in life that made me want to launch this blog. Most of you may know technology is my passion and mobile my way of expressing it. I like mobile development because of the quickness with which you get results, you don’t have to have a server or a big infrastructure, just something we all have nowadays, a smartphone.
Writing a blog is quite the opposite of fast results, something key in having a successful blog is writing consistently. Since I was young I knew I wanted to have a place on the internet and I always liked writing, but the fear of criticism, the idea of writing in a foreign language, and the huge size of the web, overwhelmed me. This year, I just made a decision, maybe I won’t have the biggest or most perfect blog, but nothing would happen if I never begin.
I didn’t see it then, but it turned out that getting fired from Apple was the best thing that could have ever happened to me. The heaviness of being successful was replaced by the lightness of being a beginner again, less sure about everything. It freed me to enter one of the most creative periods of my life.

While looking back in time, life is always full of small events that make you reach one point, but as mentioned in the quote above, things usually don’t happen until a big event in life makes you rethink your story.
So that was me a few months ago, worked two jobs where I didn’t quite feel good, and that made me think how tied I wanted to be to a 9–5 job, and how I needed something where I could decide the rules, the time and the place for working. Around that time I was also struggling with a big amount of imposter syndrome, so while surfing online looking at whether other programmers felt like I did, I stumbled upon a post in http://simpleprogrammer.com, called “ Apply For Programming Jobs You’re NOT QUALIFIED FOR “. What I read there made a lot of sense, apparently I was not alone in thinking that when you look for a job, you should not know everything perfectly, but have a strong will to learn.
After that, I knew I had found a blog worth following, found he had a podcast and started listening to it in my morning runs. Eventually, I found out that he had a free course on “How to create a blog”, so I decided to try because having a blog had been something I’d wanted all my life. In the beginning, it was just a possible project, but John Sonmez, the author and founder of Simple Programmer, had such an awesome way to motivate and to share his experience that he made me have faith that this ‘little side project’ that I had dreamed of all my life, could eventually become a full-time project.
